Towen takes its name from me (Teneal Owen) and carries the spirit of my heritage, echoing the old English word townes, meaning “my town.” Rooted proudly in Cape Town, this name reflects my deep love for South Africa - its people, its creativity, its communities, and the unique energy that makes our city one of the most inspiring places to build brands.

I've always been fascinated by psychology and human behaviour, how the right message at the right moment can spark emotion, influence decisions, and create lasting connections. That passion led me to a career in marketing and social media, where I rose to director level by age 30, leading paid, organic, and growth strategies for brands across South Africa and internationally. Along the way, I've helped local favourites turn authentic stories into bold, unforgettable growth.
